LSR Program

Leadership Santa Rosa is the premier leadership development program in Santa Rosa County, dedicated to cultivating informed, engaged, and visionary leaders who are passionate about serving their community. Rooted in a deep appreciation for the county’s history, people, and future potential, the program equips participants with the knowledge, connections, and skills needed to effect positive change.

What Your Year Looks Like

Each person elected to participate in Leadership Santa Rosa makes an extensive time commitment. Our 12-month program includes two overnight stays and eleven monthly sessions. Sessions include lectures, simulations, group discussions, panel presentations, hands-on activities, and on-site visits and tours. Each session encompasses a full day.

Participants get an insider's perspective on the sights and sounds of Santa Rosa County. From a tour of NAS Whiting Field and its operations to a behind-the-scenes look into the University of Florida's Agricultural Research Center, there is so much to discover and explore. On-site visits focus on key areas including government, military, education, healthcare, criminal justice, tourism, business & industry, community planning, history, and the media.

Nomination and Selection: September - November

Orientation: December

Retreat/SIMSOC: January

Tallahassee: February or March (pending session dates)

Monthly Sessions: February - November

Graduation: December

Sessions are normally held on the 3rd Thursday of each month.

The class includes native Santa Rosans and people who have moved here into leadership positions. Participants are educators, bankers, lawyers, realtors, public servants, military service members, businesspeople, and volunteer organizations.
